Winner, Best Documentary Short, Lighthouse International Film Festival

"Refugee" won the Grand Jury Prize for Documentary Short Film at the Lighthouse International Film Festival. The 3 day festival took place over at Long Beach Island, New Jersey, and celebrated new, exciting and challenging films in honor of Long Beach Island's historic Barnegat Lighthouse.

Judges at the festival included:

- Jean de Meuron - Executive Producer of La Femme et le TGV, Oscar nominee, Best Live Action Short Film at the 89th Academy Awards

- Sterling Milan - Television & Film Director, BrookLove, Black Movie Night, Investigation Discovery

- Steve Scibelli - Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs at BBC Worldwide. Previously VP of Business and Legal Affairs at The Weinstein Company

- Eleanor Wilson, co-producer The Babushkas of Chernobyl; director, Everything All At Once, Possum
